Once-daily RELEXXII uses osmotic pressure to steadily release methylphenidate hydrochloride. An immediate-release drug layer dissolves within an hour for quick relief, while an extended-release drug layer provides continuous medication throughout the day.^1,2

Yes, RELEXXII is available by prescription only.

Take RELEXXII by mouth once daily in the morning with or without food, or as otherwise directed by your healthcare provider. Swallow RELEXXII whole with liquid. Do not chew, divide, or crush¹ to preserve the extended-release delivery.

Choose a consistent morning time to take your tablet. For example, before/after brushing your teeth or before/after breakfast. It may also be helpful to set a daily alarm on your smartphone, or use an alternative reminder, such as a sticky note on your bathroom mirror, refrigerator or coffee maker, as a way to help ensure you don’t miss a dose.

You may also find it beneficial to keep water on your nightstand and RELEXXII securely in your nightstand so that you can take your tablet before getting out of bed in the morning.

For a helpful visual reminder, consider using a weekly or monthly pill organizer to track your daily doses.

Take your RELEXXII dose as soon as you realize you missed it. Then, return to your regular morning schedule the next day, even if it’s been less than a full 24 hours since your last dose. For further instructions tailored to you, call your healthcare provider.

Over time, your healthcare provider may change your prescription strength to optimize to your lowest effective dose for symptom management.

The most common side effect in children 6-17 years of age was stomach pain.¹

The most common side effects in adults include decreased appetite, dry mouth, trouble sleeping (insomnia), dizziness, irritability, headache, nausea, anxiety, weight loss, and increased sweating.¹
